HELLO, I’m En
I grew up in Singapore and moved to New York in 2008 to follow my love of art and design.
For years, I worked in the creative field — solving problems, bringing ideas to life, making things work. But somewhere along the way, I lost touch with myself. Long hours, tight deadlines, fluorescent studios — I felt disconnected from my body, my rhythms, the quiet moments that used to ground me.
One night, after another draining day, I found myself thinking:
“If the work I do doesn’t nourish me, what can I create that will?”
I wanted to make something real with my hands again. Something honest. Something that felt like care.
Even Keel began quietly. A few late nights in my kitchen. A small block of soap cut by hand. Wrapped in scraps of paper and tied with string before giving it to a friend. It was just an experiment at first — could I make something beautiful, something gentle, that didn’t leave a trail of harm behind?
My love for design and craft found their meeting place here. At Even Keel, I try to hold both.
To make products that not only work beautifully, but are made beautifully. To create little moments that bring you back to yourself — a quiet lather, the earthy scent of oils, the feeling of something real against your skin.
Today, we’re still small. Every bar, oil, and steamer is handcrafted in our Brooklyn studio by our tiny team. We pour, cut, wrap, and pack each order here. There’s no fulfillment center, no faceless warehouse — just us, making and sending each piece from our hands to yours.
Our studio is based in Brooklyn, New York. Our products are made by a team of individuals who deeply care about the work and their impact on the world.
