Clay "Slip" is a term for dry clay mixed together with water to create a smooth slurry, which creates a silky feel to the bar.

Natural fixative:

As essential oils (unlike fragrance) are naturally derived, it's scent dissipates overtime. Clay, as an absorbent, helps to prolong the scent of essential oils in soap.
